[ARCHIVED] PA DEP Service Line Inventory Notice Letter

By the end of November, all Borough of Phoenixville residents received a mailed notice from our Phoenixville Water Department informing them that the Water Department is inventorying all our Borough’s water service lines.  The inventory is a PA DEP requirement under the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions.   The purpose of this inventory is to determine if any water pipes throughout the Borough are made of lead.   Since this is the start of the inventory, the Borough’s service lines are currently classified by the PA DEP as “lead status unknown”.

The Borough’s Water Department is actively updating the inventory to identify the service lines that they have not gotten to yet, so if you have received a letter classified as “lead status unknown” the Water Department has not had a chance to get to your location.  This service line inventory will take time to complete and the Borough asks for your patience as we continue to update the inventory.

If the status of your service line should change the Borough will notify you, and if you have further questions about the letter you have received in the mail please call the Borough Office at 610-933-8801 or email info@phoenixville.org
