If you are a victim of a crime, you need to make a police report and in some cases your insurance company will require a police report. Perhaps, you are concerned about a suspicious incident or hazardous condition that you wish to bring to the attention of the Phoenixville Police.
There are several ways that you can make an official police report:
No. You only have to report an accident to the police department if the accident involves: (1) injury to or death of any person; or (2) damage to any vehicle involved to the extent that it cannot be driven under its own power in its customary manner without further damage or hazard to the vehicle, other traffic elements, or the roadway, and therefore requires towing. Otherwise, you may exchange driver, vehicle, and insurance information with the other driver.
Public records are available upon written request from the Phoenixville Borough Police Department Administrative Support Division, Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4PM excluding holidays or extenuating circumstances. A written request form shall be made available in the police department lobby. Records may be requested by mail with the appropriate fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Certain public records may contain sensitive information such as social security numbers, medical history, phone numbers, birth dates, juvenile information, etc. Therefore, information deemed sensitive on a document may be redacted. Under the “Right to Know Law,” investigative reports are exempted from the definition of “public records,” therefore, any such request may be denied. If a request for records is granted, the following fee schedule will apply:

Citizens are encouraged to assist the police department by reporting all compliments or complaints on weekdays between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:30PM. Citizen complaint resolution forms are available at the police station during business hours and or you can call us and we will email the form to you. During weekend hours and holidays, you may also contact the 9-1-1 communications center at 610-935-2440 and request to speak to the Phoenixville Police Department on-duty supervisor.
The police department welcomes compliments. If you are impressed by an officer’s professional demeanor, prompt response to a particular incident, or simply his or her courteousness, you are encouraged to mail or email a brief note to the attention of the Chief of Police at firstname.lastname@example.org who will ensure that the officer receives a copy of your letter.
Yes- Detectives from the Phoenixville Police Department are available to do non-criminal fingerprinting for those who work or reside in the Borough. Typically, such fingerprints are needed for purposes like employment and immigration applications.
Non-criminal fingerprinting is done on the following day only:
No appointment is necessary, but it is strongly suggested that you call first to ensure someone is available to roll your fingerprints.

Abandoned Vehicles are a nuisance as well as an eyesore. Don’t let abandoned vehicles ruin the look of your neighborhood.
Under Pennsylvania’s motor vehicle laws, a vehicle is considered abandoned if:

A police officer will respond and evaluate the situation. If the vehicle can be verified as abandoned, it will be posted with an orange notification sticker. If the owner has not removed the vehicle after seven days it will be towed away.
Are you missing your bike? Right now, the Phoenixville Police Department has several “found” bikes in storage. Each one of those bikes was abandoned somewhere in the borough, then later recovered by officers. We may have your bike, and we’d like to reunite you with it. You do not need a serial number to get your bike back, but it does expedite the process. Don’t have your serial number? Then how about a sales receipt for the bike? Or, provide a detailed description of the bike, including details about special toe clips, stickers, scratches, dents or any other unique traits your bike might have.
A traffic citation should be paid within 10 days and mailed to the district court listed on the citation. District Court 15-2-01 is located next door to the police station at 347 Bridge Street.

Are you moving or having work done to your property that may require reserved parking? If so, you may want to apply for temporary no parking signs. Complete and submit the application in the forms section. Requests for temporary no parking in a residential area must be submitted with 48 business hours notice and we will post the signs for you. Please know the signs must be posted in a residential area at least 24 hours in advance so your neighbors will know about the parking restriction.
For postings in Town Center, requests must be submitted 48 hours in advance in order to be posted within enough time in the downtown.
Also, there is a $25 dollar fee for this service that will need to be paid at the time your request is approved.
