Finance - Taxes

The Phoenixville Borough Real Estate tax bills are mailed annually in March.
Property owners are responsible for all taxes on their property.

Failure to receive a bill does not relieve the taxpayer from the responsibility to pay.

Call the Tax Collector, Jennifer Killeen, at 610-933-8801 Ext 219
if you have not received your bill.

The Borough of Phoenixville levies two types of taxes.
Real Estate Taxes and 511 Taxes.

According to State Statute, the Borough Council is able to levy up to
30 mills without court intervention. The current millage is 5.25 or
$525.00 per $100,000 of property assessment.

Chester County and the Phoenixville Area School District
also send out Real Estate tax bills.

Local Income & LST Tax Collection Procedures

The Chester Tax Collection Committee (CTCC) recently
appointed Keystone Collections Group to serve as the
Earned Income Tax (EIT) and Local Services Tax (LST) collector
for school and municipal taxing authorities within Chester County.

This important change was brought about under Act 32 of 2008.
Act 32 requires municipal governments and school districts in all
Pennsylvania counties, except Philadelphia, to select a single tax collector
to serve the Earned Income Tax collection needs of the political subdivisions
within the county. Keystone will officially start EIT and LST collections for
the CTCD effective January 1, 2011. This means that Keystone will be
responsible for processing payments for the 1st quarter of 2011 and there on.
