Trash: Per ordinance you will be allowed 5 trash bags per week.
Bulk Items: Bulk items will be picked up curbside on your regular trash day. An appointment for all metal and appliance items will be needed for curbside pickup on Mondays. All refrigerators and air conditioners must be certified freon free. You are allowed to put out no more that 5 items a week.
Recyclables: Recyclable paper and commingled materials will be picked up once a week on your regular trash day. Learn more about Recycling in Phoenixville. (PDF)
Yard Waste: Yard waste will be picked up twice a month on your regular trash days in PAPER BIODEGRADABLE BAGS ONLY. It will be collected from the first week of May through the last week of November only.
*** Biodegradable bags can be purchased at K-Mart, Sears, Giant, Acme and other retail stores.
*** The Compost Site will be open every Saturday from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm weather permitting.

Guidelines
for Trash, Yard Waste and Bulk Pick Trash Pickup
1. Customers are allowed a total of five (5) 30-gallon bags/containers for each
unit. This limit will be strictly enforced.
2. ALL TRASH CUSTOMERS MUST RECYCLE!
3. Recycle materials must be separated into two groups. All paper products, mail,
magazines, and phonebooks, are to be placed in YELLOW borough containers.
All cans, bottles, and plastics are to be rinsed and placed in GREEN borough
containers. If you need containers, you may pick them up at Borough Hall. Yellow
containers are complimentary, green ones are $5.00 unless you have a broken one
to trade in.
4. All boxes are to be cut or broken down flat and then tied into bundles not
to exceed 50 pounds.
BULK PICK UP
1. Bulk items are large items such as bikes and household furniture – sofas,
chairs, rugs (cut and tied into manageable pieces), mattresses, box springs,
and TV’s.
2. Appliances such as washers, dryers, microwaves, and water heaters. Appliances
with FREON in them will only be picked up when the refrigerant has been removed
and has the sticker certifying it was done.
3. The Borough DOES NOT pick up construction material, building material, or
dirt.
YARD WASTE
Yard waste including tree trimmings and brush must be tied into bundles less
than four (4) feet in length and 18 inches in diameter.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED
Hazardous materials, such as oil, household cleaners, tires, auto parts, chemicals,
