[ARCHIVED] Christmas Tree Disposal/Recycling

Tree Disposal

Live Tree Recycling Instructions:

Beginning on December 26th and going until March 1st, residents may place their live trees at curbside to be disposed of on their regular pickup day at no additional charge. These trees will be turned in to compost at our compost site. Residents also have the option to bring their trees directly to the compost site at 18 S 2nd Ave.

Artificial Tree Disposal Instructions:

Artificial trees may be disposed of at any time of the year, but MUST be paid for in advance as a bulk pickup item. After a bulk item pickup is scheduled, you may put it out curbside with your other trash on your regular pickup day. Artificial trees are categorized as bulk pickup items because they are put in with other trash rather than being recycled like real trees. To schedule a bulk pickup, please call the Borough at 610-933-8801.

Must Do Steps Before Putting Out Your Tree:

  •  Remove ALL ornaments, lights, tree stands, tinsel, and other decorations
    • If your artificial tree is pre-lit, please just remove all decorations.

For additional questions about the disposal or recycling of your xmas tree, please call the Borough Sanitation Department at 610-933-8801 ext. 510.
