[ARCHIVED] Mont Clare Bridge Construction - Updated on April 23, 2020

Trail on Bridge_Phoenixville

Beginning on Monday, October 7, 2019 and continuing through beginning of May 2020, Eastern Highway Specialists will be constructing a portion of the Schuylkill River Trail across the bridge connecting the Borough of Phoenixville and Upper Providence Township (Route 29).

During the project, traffic across the bridge may at times be restricted to one (1) ten foot wide lane between the hours of 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday.  At all other times there will be two (2) ten foot wide lanes across the bridge. A pedestrian/bicycle lane will remain open throughout the project.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time when travelling through this area.

Updates on work from Monday, April 27, 2020 to Friday, May 8, 2020:


Week of April 27 to April 30, 2020: Work hours will be from 6am - 4:30pm

  • Removing existing rail and top of wall
  • Install a new rail on bridge siding 
  • No work will be done on Friday, May 1

Week of May 4 to May 8, 2020: See schedule below for work hours.

Monday, May 4 - 7am - 6pm
Tuesday, May 5 - 7am - 6pm
Wednesday, May 6 - 6am - 4:30pm
Thursday, May 7 - 6am - 4:30pm
Friday, May 8 - 7am - 6pm

Please Note: This work is very weather dependent and may be rescheduled to a later date in the event of poor weather conditions. 

  • Walkway repair and work
  • Pour protective latex overlay on to bridge and walkways.
