[ARCHIVED] Borough Events Announcement

The Borough of Phoenixville, Phoenixville First and local community event organizers have been working diligently together on the status of the Temporary Community Events within the Borough.

Due to the social implications of large-scale events during this time of National Emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and following the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), it is with regret the Borough of Phoenixville has made the difficult decision to cancel/postpone Temporary Community Events scheduled from April 1st through mid-May.

These include:

  • A Whole Lot of Lulu: Vintage Market - April 25, 2020, rescheduled for June 13, 2020.
  • First Friday - May 1, 2020, cancelled but new date added for November 6, 2020.
  • Spring Food Truck Festival - May 2, 2020, cancelled. Fall Festival October 3, 2020.
  • Dogwood Festival and Parade May 13-16, 2020, cancelled.  Will return in 2021.

This decision follows increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus and the emergency declarations from Governor Wolf, County Commissioners and Phoenixville Mayor. It is impractical to believe we could properly sustain social distancing protocol within the allotted event space and adequately provide a safe and enjoyable event experience to all our residents and visitors including our corporate and community partners.

We’ve made this decision to provide festival vendors, volunteers, and the general public adequate notice of the cancellation.  We are actively discussing other ways for our community to come together through currently scheduled and possibly newly scheduled events later this year.

We are thinking of all of you during this time and want to thank you in advance for your understanding and your continued support of all our Phoenixville events. We look forward to getting through this crisis and seeing everyone again soon.
